Grade 3
“A Ram Sam Sam”.
We are learning to sing a song called A Ram Sam Sam
Step 1 - Watch the first video and learn the words and actions:

Step 2 - Watch the second video and learn the untuned percussion parts:

Learn each of three parts by clapping or tapping your lap while you watch the video.
The tambourine: clap.
The triangle: tap your index fingers together.
The drum: pat your lap.
Step 3 - Make or find a home-made instrument and play with the song. You can choose to make a drum, a triangle or a tambourine.
Search “make a simple drum” or “make a simple tambourine” on Google and you will find lots of ideas for how to make a simple instrument. Make the instrument, and then choose one of the three parts in “A Ram Sam Sam” and play along with the second video above.
When you can play it, video yourself playing the piece and save for future assessment
Grade 4

We are learning to sing a song Click Go the Shears.
Step 1 - Watch the video and learn the song.

Step 2 - Complete the worksheet.
Complete the attached worksheet about the meaning of the words in the song. All the answers can be found in the first video above.
Step 3 - Learn the untuned percussion parts.

In this video there are three untuned percussion parts: the claves, the triangle and the tambourine. Firstly, learn to play each one of them by clapping your hands or tapping your lap. You may need to watch the video over and over again to learn the parts correctly.
Then find or make an instrument to use as a pair of claves, a triangle or a tambourine, and play it along with the video. This can be as simple as finding two sticks to hit together as claves, or a plastic container to use as a tambourine.
Then record your performance on video and save for future assessment

Aural Training
We are learning to :
1. Match pitch by humming notes played on the piano
2. Sing Advance Australia Fair and clap the beat
Activity One - Pitch Matching Aural Development
Watch the video below. Instructions on what to do are explained in the video. You will be asked to hum after a note is played on the piano. Be sure to hum the note AFTER it has been played on the piano. This activity is an assessment item which I will assess in person (individual assessments) when school resumes onsite.
Activity Two (Advance Australia Fair - Marching to the beat)
Watch the video below. Instructions on what to do are explained in the video. You will be march to the beat while Advance Australia Fair is played.
Activity Three - Advance Australia Fair (Learn/Revise Verse One)
Watch the above video again. This time, sing the lyrics of verse one. The lyrics are shown below however, it is expected you memorize it. Make sure you pronounce the words accurately and sing the correct pitches.

Activity Four - Advance Australia Fair (Verse 1 Sing & Clap Beat)
Watch the above video again. This time, sing the lyrics of verse one and clap the beats while you are singing. It is expected you memorize the lyrics. Make sure you pronounce the words accurately and sing the correct pitches. This activity is an assessment item which I will assess in person (individual assessments) when school resumes onsite.
Activity Five - Creating Sound Pictures (Music Composition)
THIS ACTIVITY IS FOR PREP CHILDREN ONLY
Draw a picture of wind and rain or draw a picture of rain and thunder on a piece of A4 paper. Be sure to use colored pencils and fill the entire page. Write your name and grade at the back of the paper and bring it to school.
We are going to use your image to create sound for your picture using percussion instruments in the music classroom.
This activity is an assessment item which will be included in your music assessment portfolio.
Activity Five - Creating Sound Pictures (Music Composition)
THIS ACTIVITY IS FOR GRADE 1-2 CHILDREN ONLY
Draw a picture of one of the following:
1. Train going by
2. Truck going by
3. Walking past a noisy classroom
4. People gathering for a party and people leaving the party
Be sure to use a blank piece of A4 paper. Using colored pencils. Fill the entire page with your picture. Write your name and grade on the back of the paper.
We are going to use your image to create sound for your picture using percussion instruments in the music classroom.
This activity is an assessment item which will be included in your music assessment portfolio.
