“A Ram Sam Sam”.
We are learning to sing a song called A Ram Sam Sam
Step 1 - Watch the first video and learn the words and actions:

Step 2 - Watch the second video and learn the untuned percussion parts:

Learn each of three parts by clapping or tapping your lap while you watch the video.
The tambourine: clap.
The triangle: tap your index fingers together.
The drum: pat your lap.
Step 3 - Make or find a home-made instrument and play with the song. You can choose to make a drum, a triangle or a tambourine.
Search “make a simple drum” or “make a simple tambourine” on Google and you will find lots of ideas for how to make a simple instrument. Make the instrument, and then choose one of the three parts in “A Ram Sam Sam” and play along with the second video above.
When you can play it, video yourself playing the piece and save for future assessment

Step 2 - Complete the worksheet.
Complete the attached worksheet about the meaning of the words in the song. All the answers can be found in the first video above.
Step 3 - Learn the untuned percussion parts.

In this video there are three untuned percussion parts: the claves, the triangle and the tambourine. Firstly, learn to play each one of them by clapping your hands or tapping your lap. You may need to watch the video over and over again to learn the parts correctly.
Then find or make an instrument to use as a pair of claves, a triangle or a tambourine, and play it along with the video. This can be as simple as finding two sticks to hit together as claves, or a plastic container to use as a tambourine.
Then record your performance on video and save for future assessment

Activity One - Memory for a single pitch
A sound for a specific pitch will be played on the pianoforte. You are required to retain it in your head. Do not sing or hum the note out aloud yet. You will hear various notes to distract you. After the distractions, hum out aloud the note you were required to retain in your head. There are a total of 10 exercises in the audio file below.
Activity Two - Creating Sound Pictures (Music Composition)
THIS ACTIVITY IS FOR GRADE 3
Draw a picture of one of the following:
1. Train going by
2. Truck going by
3. Walking past a noisy classroom
4. People gathering for a party and people leaving the party
Be sure to use a blank piece of A4 paper. Using colored pencils. Fill the entire page with your picture. Write your name and grade on the back of the paper.
We are going to use your image to create sound for your picture using percussion instruments in the music classroom.
This activity is an assessment item which will be included in your music assessment portfolio.

Activity Two - Notated Music Cryptology (Music Composition)
THIS ACTIVITY IS FOR GRADE 4
You are to create a music composition using the French Music Cryptology. Create as many as you like but submit only one composition for assessment.
Guidelines:
1. Notate your music on the treble staff
2. Use quarter notes and eighth notes only
3. Simple quadruple time(4/4)
4. Four bars in length
5. Create a composition based on your first name, last name or first and last name.
